Rodeo Beach and Point Bonita/Battery Wallace
Shooting with Matt and Andrew was so fun! We started our session at Rodeo Beach where walked and talked starting at the parking lot to get to the giant rocks at the far end. We saw like, 10 dogs, all extremely friendly, so we knew it was gonna be a good day. The sky was perfectly clear, which is rare for the beaches in the Bay Area. I’m so used to seeing Karl the fog creep his way in during the few hours before sunset. I was super excited because getting a sunset on the coast is a near impossibility but I knew we were going to have some really gorgeous light.
I’ve been embracing harsh light lately, trying to improve my ability to photograph in all situations. I had a really fun time playing with angles and shadows to give my images a different look than usual. Of course, I was MOST excited about golden hour up at Point Bonita next to Battery Wallace. This northern area of the Bay is so stunning, if I could afford to live in there I absolutely would. Everything was absolutely primo at sunset time. The golden light, the beautiful greenery, that big blue ocean… It’s everything I could ask for to make a session perfect. Not to mention that these two were sweet, romantic, and down to try anything I directed them to do. With all these factors this session ended up being dreamy, dreamy, dreamy.
All in all my session with Matt and Andrew was a hard 10 out of 10. Would absolutely do it again. 😉
