Sonia and Sarah’s incredible queer multi cultural wedding was such a beautiful and unique experience for guests and vendors alike. With a last minute flurry of snowfall happening just days before their wedding it went from a simple forest fairytale to a true winter wonderland.

Of their first proposal, Sarah writes: “Sonia planned a trip to San Luis Obispo to pop the question on New Years Eve at strike of midnight, after mutually deciding that 2020 was the worst year ever. We went to dinner at The Madonna Inn, came back to the AirBNB for some board games to pass the time, then got coffee and donuts at Sunshine Donuts and got stuck chatting with the employee and almost missed the midnight mark. We arrived at Boosinger Park with less than 10 minutes to spare and Sonia proposed while we sat overlooking downtown Pismo Beach.”

Sonia also told us about Sarah’s proposal to her: “Sarah planned a surprise romantic picnic at the Chico Seed Orchard on the 2 year anniversary of when we exchanged our first “I Love You’s.” Earlier in the day, she went with her friend to set the scene with a picnic blanket, charcuterie board, dessert board, and a big “will you marry me?” banner. As they were finishing setting up, the park ranger came over and told them that it was against the rules and that they had to leave. After a lot of begging and persuasion, the park ranger called her supervisor and got the OK to let us proceed as long as it would just be the two of us. Sarah raced home and convinced Sonia to go for a walk and they stumbled upon the set up where Sarah proposed. Sarah’s friend Kyla was hiding in the bushes and snapped the pictures and got the proposal on video before sneaking away.”

Overall, despite the snow and rain, this couple got to celebrate their love not once, but twice surrounded by their friends and family. I loved hanging out with these two on their day and I can’t wait to see what life has in store for the both of them moving forward!
